We were part of the founding team and operational advisory board. We launched in two locations in Nairobi, Kenya. Operations ran for 3 years before closing in April 2016. Though the business ultimately closed, the learnings we gathered have been a building block for other social ventures.



SmartLife was designed to be a service delivering safe, affordable drinking water, alongside hygiene and nutrition products, to low income consumers. The innovation in SmartLife lies in building trusted relationships with customers through delivering safe water to their homes in order to pave the way for more difficult behaviour change in improving nutrition and encouraging healthy hygiene behaviours.
